Got a question? We’re here to help!

We know that Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a new concept to many people, so we do our best to not just ensure that you get the results you want when you train with us, but that you have the knowledge you need to understand what EMS is all about. Learn the basics below!

Will I sweat during EMS training?2020-11-21T15:17:46-05:00

Yes, you can expect to sweat during these workouts! Your muscles will be contracting and working hard. That’s how you’ll get such great benefits so quickly.

Will I be sore after EMS training?2020-11-21T15:17:33-05:00

Yes, just like any other full body workout, you will feel the effects afterwards. Our certified professional trainers can talk to you about how to best recuperate after a strength training workout.

What can I expect on my first visit?2020-11-21T15:16:00-05:00

You will start each training session by changing into a specifically designed set of undergarments. The undergarments are designed to fit under our suits and conduct electricity. During your first, free trial session we will provide you with a set to use. Your trainer will wet down the electrodes on the suit and get you strapped into the suit.

Your trainer will ask you about any areas of concern and connect your suit to the EMS machine. You will then begin your personal training session where you will be led through a series of movements and exercises based on your comfort level and fitness goals. SmartFit’s workouts are quick, efficient and low-impact on your joints, tendons and ligaments.

The machine generates low electrical pulses that will flow through the electrodes into your major muscle groups. The stimulation feels like a tingling or buzzing sensation but it is not painful! During your workout, your trainer will be constantly asking you how you feel, how hard the movements are and if you can handle more resistance. Each and every workout is customizable to your fitness goals.

We will encourage you to take a quick water break half way through your 20-minute workout. Finally, your trainer will help you get out of the EMS training suit and you’ll change back into your street clothes. The entire process will take about 30-35 minutes.

Should I exercise in between sessions?2020-11-21T15:16:44-05:00

You should not engage in strength training exercise in between EMS sessions. You can, however, do light to moderate cardio workouts. We encourage you to talk to our certified professional trainers about what type of work out is safe in between EMS training sessions in your particular case.

Is EMS training safe?2020-11-21T15:16:58-05:00

Yes, EMS training is FDA approved!

How should I dress for EMS training?2020-11-21T15:17:18-05:00

When you arrive for your appointment, we will provide you with an XBody workout outfit designed to work with the EMS device. This outfit is comfortable and is necessary for maximum results!

How much EMS training do I need in order to be effective?2020-11-21T15:16:16-05:00

Two 20-minute workouts per week is all you need! Each 20-minute workout is equivalent to a 90-minute full body workout because of the muscle contractions caused by the EMS device. Expect to see results much faster than you would from a traditional workout program.

Can I eat whatever I want while doing this program?2020-11-21T15:16:31-05:00

Just like any fitness and weight loss program, a proper diet is a big part of achieving maximum results. The certified professional trainers at SmartFit still encourage you to eat a healthy diet high in lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. But, of course, do not be afraid to enjoy a treat in moderation!

Are all EMS training sessions the same or are they tailored to my needs?2020-11-21T15:17:59-05:00

We tailor each workout to your individual needs and focus on the areas that you want work on the most. Each workout is a mix a cardio and strength training designed just for you.
